Rising Puerto Rican rapper YOVNGCHIMI kicks off the year with the release of his powerful new single, “MVLAN,” featuring Spanish hitmaker JC Reyes. YOVNG CHIMMI:

YOVNGCHIMI is a Puerto Rican singer of drill and trap music. Despite starting his music career in 2021, he has already made a name for himself within the Puerto Rican scene and is beginning to expand to other Spanish-speaking countries. In his short career, he has managed to collaborate with artists such as Ñengo Flow, Mora, De La Ghetto, Jon Z, Eladio Carrión, and Anuel AA, among others.

As is common for artists who are just starting out (especially in the drill genre), not much is known about his personal life, other than his real name being Ángel Javier Aviles Monzón and that he is around 26 years old (according to his official YouTube channel biography, although the year this information was added is unknown). It is worth noting that he was raised in Santurce, San Juan, Puerto Rico.

From a young age, Ángel (YOVNGCHIMI’s birth name) had an involvement in street life, including delinquency, drugs, and other illegal activities. This is why he has a deep understanding of the streets, and many of his songs have explicit lyrics that reference street life. Finally, it’s worth mentioning that his most popular song to date is a collaboration with Anuel AA titled «Diamantes En Mis Dientes,» which already has 11 million views in just over three weeks since its release.
