JOAQUINA JOINS GUSTAVO DUDAMEL AND THE NEW YORK PHILHARMONIC AT RADIO CITY MUSIC HALL FOR THE OPENING OF DUDAMEL’S INAUGURAL SEASON

THE VENEZUELAN SINGER-SONGWRITER PERFORMED SONGS FROM HER LATIN GRAMMY®-NOMINATED DEBUT ALBUM ‘AL ROMPER LA BURBUJA,’ ACCOMPANIED ON PIANO BY MULTI-AWARD-WINNING PRODUCER JULIO REYES COPELLO

JOAQUINA, the Venezuelan Latin pop singer-songwriter and Latin GRAMMY® winner, made her 
Radio City Music Hall debut last night after being personally invited by 
Gustavo Dudamel to perform alongside the 
New York Philharmonic during a special one-night-only concert marking the opening of the Orchestra’s 2026–27 season.

During her performance, JOAQUINA brought songs from her debut album, ‘al romper la burbuja,’ nominated for a Latin GRAMMY® for Album of the Year, to the iconic New York stage, accompanied on piano by multi-award-winning producer Julio Reyes Copello, who also produced the album.

JOAQUINA opened with “pesimista,” an intimate reflection on vulnerability, distance and the fear that comes with learning to truly love someone. The track has also become a viral phenomenon on TikTok, generating more than 3.2 million creations. She closed with “el Alquimista,” a contemplative song that explores spirituality and imagines a conversation with “the alchemist” in search of answers about humanity, freedom and her own place in the world.

Speaking about the experience, JOAQUINA shared, “I feel incredibly honored to be part of an event like this, which marks Gustavo Dudamel’s induction with the New York Philharmonic. I’m still in shock and so grateful for the invitation. I performed songs that I wrote in my bedroom, coming from the deepest and most personal place in my heart, and to sing them on a stage as iconic as Radio City Music Hall is beyond anything I ever dreamed of as a little girl. I’m also deeply grateful to Gustavo Dudamel for thinking of me for this invitation. As a Venezuelan, seeing him represent us in the global music and symphonic world in such an iconic way fills me with pride. He represents the very best of our country’s talent and what we have to offer as Venezuelan musicians. I’m incredibly thankful to him for giving me this opportunity to show the very best of who I am.”

Dudamel’s invitation arrives amid a standout 2026 for JOAQUINA, who recently appeared on the cover of Rolling Stone en Español’s “Future of Music 2026” issue and was invited by JUANES to open the Miami kickoff of The Juanes World Tour at a packed Kaseya Center last week.

Earlier this year, Joaquina began a new creative chapter in her career with the release of 
«Verano en la Ciudad,»
 her latest single rooted in nostalgia, homecoming, and rediscovery. Throughout this new chapter, Joaquina explores themes of identity, heritage, and the search for belonging, moving beyond labels to better understand who she is and where she truly feels at home. Inspired by her return to Miami, the city where she grew up after leaving Venezuela at a very young age, the song reflects on how easily we take for granted the places, friendships, family, and people that shape our lives.

With an artistic vision rooted in honesty, emotional depth and constant evolution, JOAQUINA continues to expand her presence on some of the world’s most important stages while establishing herself as one of the most promising and distinctive voices of Latin pop’s new generation.
